Meet the teacher!
In May 2017 I graduated from Illinois State University with my bachelor of science in education. My specialties are Science, Language Arts, Social Science and Reading. I have always loved working with children and am so excited to start this new school year!
I grew up in Watseka, Illinois, and knew I always wanted to become a teacher ever since I was little. I love playing sports and being active. Some of my favorite things to do are hanging out with friends and crafting. I also love reading and am continuously finding new books for my students!
I hope to get to know you and always have open communication concerning your child’s learning progress! Please feel free to call me at the school (309-444-3361) or e-mail me at d52kjohns@d52schools.com. Please don’t hesitate to contact me! I have enjoyed getting to know this town this summer and cannot wait to get to know all of you!

What Your Students Are Up To!
Students are working on their vocabulary words! We are also starting the book Stargirl. We will be reading this book together and doing other activities with it.
Classroom Activities
In this classroom students will be able to interact with a world map as they read their books. Each time their novel takes them to a new place they will be able to pin it on the map and talk about the new destination. We already have a few pins on the map!
Please encourage your student to be looking out for this when reading!
